Changes at Cherished Art!!

I did not realize how long it had been since we had blogged, it has been a crazy 2010 and we are still in the beginning! We returned from our annual mission trip to Asia with a new focus and mission in life which brought a lot of changes at the studio. We needed to make some changes so I personally could focus on more local outreach to those in need in our community. God has opened many doors for me during this time and I am constantly excited each day as He brings new people in my life.

For me to be able to do this, changes had to be made at the studio. A wonderful friend opened her studio for me to become a part of where I have less responsibilites (businesswise) and I can do what I love which is photograph wonderful families.

We can now be found at Imaging Studios in Friendswood, call 832-474-8510 to book an appointment with Stephayne. We are still here, just in a new location and making some personal changes which I know and hope you will be pleased with.

So bring on your families, seniors, newborns, children, etc. we would love to have the opportunity to create some beautiful art!!

This coming Tuesday we are having our Christmas mini sessions and we are almost full!! We have 3 spots left open and would love to fill you in! Check out why this is an awesome mini session to come to:

Family Session Package

Call today to schedule your family session and if you schedule your session prior to November 1st you can take advantage of this awesome package!! If you are wanting to take advantage of our canvas sale you will need to schedule your session no later than Oct. 24th to be eligible to view in time to order.

When preparing for your family session, we ask that you do not dress Christmassy (is that a word:?) if we are creating Christmas cards for you we will make them festive for you!! Dress your family comfortably and color coordinate, you do not have to all have on the same style of clothes, just follow a color scheme, it will fabulous!!

The package this year will contain:

1 set of our custom designed Christmas cards (flat or folded) 1- 11x14 mounted print

Halloween Mini Sessions and Fund Raiser

Each session will be $35 and will include your session time and a 5x7 print. $15 from each session will go to our Toys for Tots drive, so dress your little ones up in their costume or just some cute fall outfit and come to the studio on Oct. 29th!!! Pretty Little Lady

Another beautiful senior girl!!

We had fun this week shooting another senior session with this beautiful senior! We shot a ton of pictures with a variety of cute outfits and settings, the pictures came out awesome!! This Clear Creek High School senior has such a fun, bubbly personality and we had a great time capturing it for her to remember.

We have enjoyed doing several senior sessions over the past couple weeks, and it's not too late for those of you graduating in 2009! Call the studio today to schedule a session.

It's been a while but we are back and exciting things are happening!!!

Well, we first have to say thank you so much for allowing us some much needed time off! We spent some time with our families and enjoyed a very blessed Christmas and then Meganne and I along with 10 other people from our church headed to the airport at 0 dark 30 on the morning of New Years Eve to begin what was the most incredible trip yet!

We went on a mission trip to SE Asia, Northern Thailand to be more exact and it was fabulous. We had so many trials getting there and while we were there but it was all worth it! We were able to see the kids, share the truth and hope with them, love and play with them as well as teach them English. Most of these children are refugees from bordering countries and they are forced out of their villages with literally the clothes on their back, over 3400 villages on the Burmese border were torched, slaughtered or obliterated in some inhumane way in 2008. We love that we can provide some of the simple basic things these children need (shoes, coats, socks, hats,etc) as well as some of these children can be adopted and their schooling paid for. A lot of these children have seen their families murdered, some right in front of their own eyes. These are the invisible children of Thailand, they do not exist according to any government and get no help. We have added some pics for you to see, look at their sweet smiles they are truly a wonderful group of kids, we can't wait to get to see them again! If you are interested in learning more about how you can provide for any of their needs or would be willing to adopt one please feel free to let us know and we will get you that info. Thanks so much to a few of our clients who have already taken that challenge, we appreciate it!!

This family was so much fun, I just love these kids, the boys are super fun and can you turn down those eyes on little miss princess!! They are expecting baby #4- SURPRISE!!!!!! We had fun with the kids, then mom and dad, had mom dressed up mermaid style for some sweet maternity and then we brought out the FINGERPAINT!!!!!!! We had a blast and the kids painted the most awesome masterpiece ever. We had a great time and hope you did too, can't wait for Baby A to arrive next month, see you guys soon!!!!

Well here we go again, we have had so much fun with all of the wonderful kids that have come in lately we almost feel guilty, not really though. This is what we do at Cherished Art Photography, fun is what we love to do!!! This is another one of our favorite families and this time they brought their cousins in for a great time! 3 boys and 1 princess can be overwhelming but not for us, fun is had and art is created. We had a great time again and ended up with some awesome images for mom and dads and grandma for sure!

These girls and I had sooooo much fun, they are so adorable!!! We played and played and played until we just couldn't take anymore- NOT!! They are beautiful young ladies and we had to crank up the fun meter and just make some noise, we jumped all over the studio, dressed up in pettiskirts and had to play with some Christmas ornaments too. Mom was so happy, I am sure dad will be too.

Thanks girls for letting me have so much fun with you guys, I can't wait to do it again!!!

Little Miss Princess

I can't believe how much you are growing, you are 3 months old now. You are such a little princess already! When you look at these images aren't her eyes so yummy? You could just eat her up! I love the close up one in the red tutu. Well I know we just started this baby plan and I hope she slows down in the growing process but I doubt she will.

Don't you just love the teacup and every little girl needs a friend who loves on her while she is sleeping, Grover rocks!!

This is a super new family, they were blessed with such a miracle and they know it and treasure her everyday. You guys are blessed but I know you already know that!

We had another great opportunity to shoot this family again and I just can't tell you how much fun they are. I love it when people are super relaxed and will let me create works of art for them, most of the time it turns out fabulous!!! We had the pleasure of photographing this wonderful family! It has been a year since we had seen them and little A has gotten so big and she is a blast to hang out with. We chased her all over the place and had a blast doing it, she is truly a bundle of joy in almost 2 year old form.

We have been working overtime day and night but we are finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.... which always leads to another one! I have talked to many of you since Ike and have heard some horrible stories and some wonderful ones also. We were very blessed to only have been out of the studio for 21 days as it could be much worse but we are back and ready to roll!!!

First, I want to say thanks to all of you who called and emailed with such genuine concern for the studio, as I told most of you, it is just a building as the important thing we are all safe, even though some of had more damage than others we are here to help one another through this tough time. We do have a family that we are trying to help, one of our clients lost their house on Crystal Beach and they have nothing. So we are all collecting donations for them, they have 2 daughters who are size 4 and 6, the mom wears an XL and size 16 and the dad also wears XL and is 36x34. If there is anything you would like to donate to this family please just bring it to the studio and we will make sure it gets to them.

Please pray for the many families that have been affected by Ike as there are many, we have been working in San Leon for the last several days while waiting to get back into the studio, thanks for being so patient with us during this time.

There are a lot of new changes coming to Cherished Art and we cannot wait to show them to you, we hope to see you all very soon, be looking for an exclusive invite to a special event coming up....

Here she is making her debut in the studio after a wonderful birth just last week, welcome Baby S into the world!! We had so much fun with this session, this is one special little girl. She was born on August 17 around 11:30 at night. You can see her birth images below, mom and dad are doing wonderful just enjoying this precious new life they have been given. Thanks guys for allowing us once again in your lives to watch this little girl grow up into a beautiful princess!

We had the pleasure of photographing the brand new baby girl of a local hero, a firefighter! This is such a precious family and beautiful new baby girl, she is one lucky little thing! She slept the entire session, the kind of session we dream of but rarely happens, that is okay we love all of the fresh new arrivals here at the studio, screaming or sleeping.

Miss A joined her family on Sunday, August 18th at 3:34 in the morning. Mom and dad are doing wonderful! Enjoying every new moment she smiles and every sweet breath she takes. They will truly love this new life they have been given to nurture and we are so blessed they have chosen us to be a part of it.

Thanks for trusting us with this new adventure and we can't wait to see and watch her grow into a beautiful young lady!!

A miracle has arrived!!!!!!!!

Here at Cherished Art we have the opportunity and the honor to be at some of the most amazing moments in our clients lives and this time was no different, it was purely magical! The S family has grown by 2 feet this week as they welcomed their first precious miracle, little Baby S was born Sunday night around 11pm. Mom and baby are doing wonderful and dad can't believe his eyes. I can't for them to come in for their newborn session. Thanks guys for the honor to be at this wonderful time in your lives, from the waiting to the anticipation where the excitement builds. To the arrival of a fresh new life and when the beginning of a new family is born. I can't help but say I love what I do, thanks for letting me do it!

Little K has been so fun to shoot this past year, I can't believe you are 1 already!! I am very partial to this little guy, he is one of my best friends little miracles! He was adopted earlier this year after many years of waiting. He is such a flirt and I just love this family dearly, he truly has no idea what is in store for him as he grows up!! Maternity sessions are some of my favorite!!! After having 4 children of my own I know how hard it is to look past the beautifully growing belly to the continually evolving miracle growing inside. there is just something about a pregnant woman that causes her to glow, easier to see in other moms-to-be than ourselves. I take every maternity session as a challenge to show this woman how beautiful she is whether she feels like it or not!! American Baby Faire

American Baby Faire

Hey everyone,
We will be one of the only photographers featured at The American Baby Faire this weekend for the second year in a row, we are at booth 474 come by and check us out!! We will be posting pics next week for you to see for those of you who don't get to make it out

The American Baby Faire has some great things going on, there are tons of booths with great information regarding children, not to mention all the exciting kid zones featuring the Chicco Rodeo, the Babies R Us baby races and many more.

They have classes on lots of "how to" topics that are very important for new parents, you don't want to miss this if you can help it. The hours are Saturday and Sunday fro 10-6 each day. Hope to see you there!!!

Well, as many of you know I joined with another photographer, Tamara Sauer, a couple of months ago and we created Cherished Art Photography. We are very excited to be working together and bring you a great variety of art and some new and fresh ideas, we think you will be very pleased with all of the new things we have to offer. We have also hired a wonderful graphic designer Kourney Pace who rocks the house in PS, Meganne is our awesome assistant who can do it all, this is us, we are Cherished Art Photography and we want to "Reveal the art in your family."

We will be having an open house soon and would love for you to come by and visit the studio in Kemah, just 2 blocks south of the Boardwalk. We can also be seen this weekend at The American Baby Faire at the Reliant Center booth 474.
